“American Horror Story” is one of the most influential pieces of horror media in the past decade. It is also one of the most successful shows of the past decade, earning 16 Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards. The most notable seasons throughout the show’s history are “Murder House,” “1984,” “Roanoke,” “Hotel,” and “Asylum,” and due to the popularity and success of the series, it has been renewed for three more seasons by FX.
“It is expected to be one of the most interesting ones in the drama’s history since there are two stories instead of one...”
“I am hoping for a lot of gore and suspense in the next ‘American Horror Story’ season. I think it makes the plot so much more interesting and thrilling,” said senior Hailey Mikowski.
The tenth season, called “Double Feature,” is currently in development. It was originally supposed to be released in the fall of 2020, but production stopped due to the pandemic. The series’ producer and showrunner, Ryan Murphy, has not talked about “American Horror Story” much recently, except for the release of the title of the new season and the cast a couple of weeks ago.
The premise of the new season is that it contains “two different stories, one by the sea, one by the sand.” As a result, only the cast for the story by the sea has been revealed. Series regulars Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters are set to return to the show, despite being absent from the last season, and Leslie Grossman, Billie Lourd, Angelica Ross, and Finn Wittrock are also set to join Paulson and Peters in “Double Feature.”

"American Horror Story" leaves fans excited for the upcoming season.
“I am so excited for ‘American Horror Story’ season 10, and I am very interested to see what ‘Double Feature’ actually means and how they will tell this amazing story,” said senior Navdeep Kaur.
The new season is set to premiere in late 2021, and the marketing team plans on slowly revealing more details for the rest of the season, in addition to the release of a trailer in the upcoming months. Since the show is an anthology, the plots of each season are not connected in specific ways, but are instead subtly mentioned. It is expected to be one of the most interesting ones in the drama’s history, and fans are curious about how this will relate to the previous seasons but also segue into future ones as well.
