We, along with the rest of the student council, have been diligently working to plan fun and unique events and spirit days. After a full school year where activities seemed to be frozen in time, we are so excited to be back working together in the Student Activities office.
Each month, the student council has been greeting students as they walk into the building. In November, we handed out stickers that said, “You are awesome to the core.” In December, we handed out candy canes to get into the holiday spirit, while we headed on the final stretch towards the winter holiday break. We hope to continue this each month, handing out something new each time to uplift the spirit among students.
We have also attended Student Congress and superintendent student advisory meetings. During Student Congress, the members of the student council, presidents of each club and elected representatives from each social students class meet. We are allowed to ask questions, we receive updates from the administrators and we have open discussions about the concerns of students and work together to decide on effective solutions. During the superintendent student advisory meeting, class presidents and vice presidents, along with student council members, engage in a discussion with the superintendent about upcoming plans on the district level.
We are super excited to be working together, especially to bring back all of the old traditions, such as P.S. I Love You Day, that we missed out on last year due to the pandemic. Be sure to follow us on Instagram @nhpstudentcouncil. We would like to wish all of you a very safe and happy holiday season!
