This is the Way: Return of the Mandalorian

By Andrew Canese and Priya Persaud

After a very successful first season with praise from fans and critics alike, “The Mandalorian” has returned to Disney Plus for a highly anticipated second season. Executive producers Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni and Kathleen Kennedy have yet to disappoint, and viewers are excited for the series to continue heating up.

Pedro Pascal has returned to reprise his role as the Mandalorian, Din Djarin. Joining him are the renowned actors Carl Weathers as Greef Karga, Giancarlo Esposito as Moff Gideon, and actress Gina Carano as Cara Dune. Along with these familiar faces, newcomer Timothy Olyphant have joined the cast as well as the Tatooine lawman, Cobb Vanth. Many consider the performances of the actors to be the best aspect of the series, especially Pascal’s, who brings a level of grit and faceless emotion to the mysterious Mandalorian bounty hunter.

“There will be major, major, epic, epic lightsaber action happening on this show...

Along with new characters, there have been many improvements made to the quality and storyline of the show as well. In contrast to the first season, the enjoyment and thrill of the action continues to animate the screen, but also makes sure to relate each episode back to the narrative. Whether it is a major part of the story or just a side quest, each episode has made a great contribution to the journey during this season, with the main mission being to deliver The Child, also known as the infamous Baby Yoda, to the Jedi. With new and improved action sequences, season two continues to illuminate the minds of young Jedi watchers.

The Mandalorian is inseparable from The Child, better known as the oh-so-cute Baby Yoda.

“There will be major, major, epic, epic lightsaber action happening on this show,” said actor Giancarlo Esposito, who plays Moff Gideon.

With the excitement of the unfolding plot, “The Mandalorian” continues to amaze fans with each passing episode. Whether a fan is new or old, the adventurous Star Wars plot surrounding The Child and Din Djarin effortlessly amazes the eye.

“I am highly anticipating this season since they have unveiled a few important things that will happen. I really can’t wait to watch,” said junior Prianka Ramlall.

While delivering an intricate plot to the screen, the second season of “The Mandalorian” has the intention of integrating the different stories of the characters into one major plotline.

While I think the first season was great, the second season continues to build upon this world and I’m excited to see what is going to happen next...

“The new season is about introducing a larger story in the world. The stories become less isolated, yet each episode has its own flavor, and hopefully, we’re bringing a lot more scope to the show,” said producer Jon Favreau on “Entertainment Weekly.”

Currently, the show is set to release only eight episodes; however, these episodes will reveal a great deal of plot development. Both main characters will face obstacles that will contribute to the overall storyline.

Regardless of the plot, “The Mandalorian” has been highly awaited and the culmination of this year’s season is nearing with each week. As the excitement builds and tensions rise within the show, fans cannot help but feel happy about the adventures of the Mandalorian and The Child.

“The second season of ‘The Mandalorian’ has been awesome. You can really tell how much time and effort was put into the show. Most importantly, The Child is still there, and he is still as cute as ever. While I think the first season was great, the second season continues to build upon this world and I’m excited to see what is going to happen next,” said sophomore Luke Jacob.

Whether the show gains fame because of the epic battles on Tatooine or the cute shots of The Child eating teal macaroons, “The Mandalorian” continues to leave viewers star-struck.
